This generously lathering soap, containing meadowsweet flowers, beeswax and local honey, celebrates our bees and reminds us how important they are to the world. 

Honey does wonders for your skin, absorbing impurities from the pores on the skin, making it an ideal cleansing agent.

 Beeswax helps hydrate skin and has strong antiseptic, healing, and anti-inflammatory properties.

Meadowsweet has skin-conditioning, soothing and toning properties

Bees love meadowsweet blossoms, so it seems perfect to include these flowers in this soap. The flowers are picked locally, at Dr Beynon’s Bug Farm, an organic conservation and research centre, working farm and educational visitor attraction near St Davids. 

Meadowsweet (Spiraea Ulmaria) is often used in skin care products, for its reputed skin conditioning, soothing and toning properties. It was mentioned in Chaucer’s, ‘A Knight’s Tale’ in the 14th century and is one the three most sacred Druid herbs. It was used to flavour Mead, an alcoholic drink made by fermenting honey. It was widely used to impart fragrance and mask other unpleasant
smells so were strewn on the floors in houses and palaces during the Middle Ages.

Beeswax helps to keep water out, but it also helps keep water in by acting as a protective, breathable layer on the skin’s surface. It locks in moisture for soft, supple, hydrated skin and contains non-allergenic properties that help protect the skin. Beeswax is commonly used in various products to improve the condition and texture of the skin and also has a number of benefits in treating problems like acne, eczema, and dry skin. It contains powerful anti- bacterial, anti-inflammatory, and antioxidant properties that are all beneficial and has strong antiseptic, healing, and anti-inflammatory properties.
